Blusource Recruitment are delighted to be partnering with a well established Nottingham business to recruit a Company Accountant . This is a fantastic opportunity to join a unique organisation with multiple revenue streams, a friendly and lively team, and a business that genuinely welcomes new ideas.

This is a stand alone finance position, giving you full ownership of the finance function. They’re not looking for someone who simply maintains the status quo, they’re looking for someone who enjoys improving processes, challenging the way things are done and adding real value to the wider business.

If you enjoy working closely with colleagues, being part of a collaborative environment and having the opportunity to influence how finance supports the business, this is a role well worth exploring.

Key responsibilities include:

• Taking ownership of the day to day finance function.
• Producing monthly management accounts and overseeing month end and year end processes.
• Managing the sales and purchase ledgers, bank reconciliations and cash flow.
• Preparing VAT returns and statutory reporting.
• Maintaining accurate financial records using Sage.
• Identifying opportunities to improve financial processes, reporting and controls.
• Providing financial insight and support to the wider business.

To be successful, you’ll have previous experience in an all round accounting role, such as Company Accountant, Management Accountant or Finance Manager , with strong management accounting skills and the confidence to work independently. Experience with Sage or similar accounting software would be advantageous, along with excellent Excel skills and a proactive approach to problem solving.

The role is fully office based in Nottingham , working 10:00am to 6:00pm , offering a later start than the traditional working day. You’ll also benefit from your own allocated parking space, with the office being easily accessible by both car and public transport.
