Tax Supervisor / Senior Tax Consultant – Leatherhead, Surrey

£50,000–£65,000 | Private Client Tax with Corporate Tax and Advisory Exposure | Hybrid Working

Are you an experienced Private Client Tax professional looking for greater portfolio responsibility and the opportunity to broaden your Corporate Tax and advisory experience over time?

Fletcher George is representing a highly regarded, growing firm of Chartered Accountants and Tax Advisers in the Leatherhead area. The firm is looking to appoint an experienced Tax Supervisor or Senior Tax Consultant to join its expanding Tax team.

The role has a strong Private Client Tax compliance focus, working with an impressive portfolio that includes high-net-worth individuals, trusts and estates, entrepreneurs, family businesses and directors of successful owner-managed groups.

Alongside managing your core Private Client Tax portfolio, you will have the opportunity to gain exposure to more complex advisory matters and Corporate Tax work. The position can be shaped around your existing strengths and longer-term ambitions, so previous Corporate Tax experience is welcome but not essential.

The Role

Working closely with the Tax Partners, you will manage a varied Private Client Tax portfolio, deliver high-quality compliance work and provide technical support to clients and junior colleagues.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Managing a portfolio of Private Client Tax clients
• Preparing and reviewing complex Self Assessment tax returns
• Delivering high-quality personal tax compliance work and managing all relevant deadlines
• Acting as a trusted point of contact for clients and responding to their tax queries
• Providing practical and commercially focused tax guidance
• Reviewing work prepared by junior colleagues and supporting their development
• Identifying potential tax planning opportunities and discussing these with the Tax Partners
• Working with the Partners on more complex Private Client Tax matters
• Gaining exposure to Corporate Tax and tax advisory work
• Taking on additional Corporate Tax and advisory responsibilities where these align with your interests and career ambitions

About You

The firm is keen to meet Tax professionals with strong practical experience and technical knowledge gained within a UK accountancy practice or specialist tax environment.

You may be ACA, ATT or CTA qualified, currently studying towards a professional tax qualification or qualified by experience.

You are likely to have:

• Strong experience in Private Client or Personal Tax compliance
• Experience managing or taking responsibility for a portfolio of clients
• The ability to prepare and review complex Self Assessment tax returns
• Experience reviewing tax work and supporting junior colleagues
• Strong UK tax technical knowledge
• Confident communication and client relationship skills
• A proactive and well-organised approach
• A genuine commitment to delivering an excellent client service

Existing Corporate Tax experience would be useful but is not essential. The Partners are keen to support your longer-term development, whether you would like to move further into tax advisory, broaden your Corporate Tax knowledge or continue building your career as a Private Client Tax specialist.

Location

The Leatherhead-area office is commutable from Cobham, Esher, Epsom, Dorking, Guildford, Weybridge and surrounding Surrey locations.
