Data Business Analyst – Claims Transformation | 6-month contract | 1 day per fortnight in office | York or London |

I'm looking for 2 experienced Data Business Analyst to join a large-scale, multi-million-pound Claims Transformation programme.

This is not a traditional Business Change or Business Process BA role . The programme already has people covering that area. Instead, you'll sit across the transformation from a data perspective , working between the business, technology and data teams.

The Role

Working directly with the Product Manager, you'll help drive a number of cross-cutting data initiatives across Claims.

You'll be involved in areas including:

  • Understanding data sources, flows and dependencies
  • Developing data dictionaries and business glossaries
  • KPI, OKR and performance reporting
  • Fraud reporting and analytics
  • Building out a data product catalogue
  • Understanding data fields and where they originate
  • Supporting Dynamics 365 and data warehouse initiatives
  • Assessing the impact of new data and systems on existing reporting
  • Working alongside Solution Architects, Data and Analytics teams

A key part of the role will be bringing together business and technical stakeholders, understanding what they need from the data and turning that into clear requirements and deliverables.

About You

We're looking for a Data-focused Business Analyst with:

  • Strong experience working with data
  • Understanding of data warehousing
  • Experience with reporting / MI and Power BI
  • Strong requirements gathering and documentation skills
  • Experience running workshops / user story mapping
  • The ability to work comfortably across both business and technology teams

You don't need to be a technical data specialist or Power BI developer. We're more interested in someone who understands how data moves through an organisation, where it comes from, how it's used and what impact changes can have .

Experience with systems such as Dynamics 365, SAP, Oracle or other enterprise applications would be useful, but the specific technology background isn't essential.

The Environment

You'll work across a complex, multi-country transformation involving Claims, Data & Analytics, MI, Power BI, Data Science, Engineering, Technology and Architecture teams.

It's a role with plenty of stakeholder exposure and the opportunity to have a genuine impact on how data is understood, structured and used across the Claims function.
