- Ensure engineering deliverables are produced to programme, quality and safety requirements.
- Coordinate multidisciplinary engineering teams and specialist suppliers.
- Review and manage technical documentation, specifications, design submissions and engineering assurance activities.
- Support the identification, management and resolution of technical risks, issues and interfaces.
- Work closely with project and programme management teams to ensure engineering activities align with overall delivery milestones.
- Manage technical changes and ensure appropriate configuration and change‑control processes are followed.
- Support testing, commissioning and integration activities associated with modifications to the existing network.
- Ensure engineering activities comply with relevant railway standards, legislation, project requirements and assurance processes.
- Engage with operational and engineering stakeholders to ensure modifications are deliverable within a live transport environment.
- Provide regular engineering progress updates, highlighting risks, dependencies and areas requiring escalation.
Key Projects
- Piccadilly Junction remodelling
- Bury Interchange modifications
- Velopark extension
The programme involves modifications to existing tram control systems and trackside signalling infrastructure, rather than telecommunications systems.
