About The Role

We are currently seeking a skilled Azure Cloud Migration Engineer to join our client’s dynamic team on a contractual basis. This role involves supporting the migration of a critical business application from on‑premise infrastructure to Microsoft Azure. The successful candidate will work closely with the Lead Technical Architect to design, build, test, and support Azure infrastructure, ensuring a secure, resilient, and operationally efficient platform. This position offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to a significant digital transformation project, utilizing your expertise in cloud migration and infrastructure management.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in cloud migration and Azure services, with relevant certifications being highly desirable. Proven experience in deploying and managing Azure infrastructure, networking, and security is essential. Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform, Bicep, or equivalent is required. Candidates should have a solid understanding of DevOps practices, monitoring, logging, and operational support in regulated or mission‑critical environments. Excellent problem‑solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with cross‑functional teams are crucial for success in this role.

Responsibilities

• Support the discovery phase, conducting technical assessments and developing detailed migration plans to ensure seamless transition of applications and infrastructure to Azure.
• Build, configure, and optimize Azure infrastructure components, including compute, storage, landing zones, and networking, adhering to best practices and security standards.
• Implement identity management solutions, monitoring tools, and operational services to ensure high availability and security of the cloud environment.
• Lead migration activities, including cutover planning, execution, and rollback procedures to mitigate risks and minimize downtime.
• Conduct resilience testing, backup validation, and disaster recovery drills to guarantee business continuity and data integrity.
• Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure and migration issues promptly, providing technical support throughout the project lifecycle.
• Produce comprehensive technical documentation, operational procedures, and handover materials to facilitate ongoing support and maintenance.
• Collaborate closely with architects, Microsoft teams, and third‑party vendors to ensure alignment and successful delivery of the migration project.
