NXP Semiconductors, Automotive Processors, Solutions & Applications, Glasgow, UK, Graduate Hire
The car is becoming a computer on wheels, and AI is moving from the cloud to the edge; right onto silicon. Our S32N automotive MPUs pack proprietary AI IP blocks that let carmakers run machine learning where it matters: in the vehicle, in real-time, safely. We're building the next generation of our Glasgow applications team, and we want people who are AI-native; who reach for an LLM, a notebook, or a model before a manual. You won't just support customers; increasingly you'll be leading them, showing the world's biggest automotive names what's possible with our devices before they even ask.
Get hands-on fast with our S32N MPUs and AI toolchains — preparing, optimising and deploying ML models onto real automotive hardware. Prototype new AI use-cases (on-device assistants, anomaly detection, predictive maintenance, etc.) and turn them into demos that win designs. Write clean, modern software; and use AI coding assistants, CI/CD and automation as everyday tools, not afterthoughts. Work shoulder-to-shoulder with global customers and our worldwide engineering teams, becoming the technical voice that shapes how our AI silicon gets used. Bring fresh thinking. If there's a faster, smarter, more automated way; then we want you to find it and share it!
A degree in Computer Science, Electronics, AI/ML, Software or a related engineering field. Genuine fluency with AI/ML concepts and tools — Python, PyTorch/TensorFlow/ONNX, and comfort experimenting with LLMs and modern AI workflows. Solid software fundamentals (C/C++ a plus), version control (git), and curiosity about how software meets hardware. A builder's mindset: you learn by doing, you're not afraid of the unknown, and you like solving problems that don't have a textbook answer. Great communication, because you'll be explaining clever things to smart people, including customers.
You're joining at the ground floor of edge AI in automotive, with real silicon, real customers, and the freedom to shape a brand-new capability inside our team. You'll be surrounded by a global network of experienced engineers to learn from, while bringing skills we need and don't yet have. Come help us lead the industry instead of following it.
