OVERVIEW The University of Sheffield is seeking an experienced Senior Global Opportunities Manager to lead its established international student exchanges team. This role supports the university’s international strategy through the management of global partnerships, student exchange activity, and collaboration across the institution. The position contributes to expanding international opportunities for students and strengthening the university’s established reputation for student experience and support. The successful candidate will oversee international exchange partnership agreements, including Turing and Erasmus+ activity, while helping shape the strategic direction of exchanges and summer schools. Occasional international travel is required as part of the role.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the university’s established international student exchanges team
• Contribute to the international strategy of the university
• Manage the university’s portfolio of international exchange partnership agreements
• Oversee Turing and Erasmus+ exchange activity
• Provide strategic input into the university’s exchanges scheme and summer schools
• Lead global opportunities operations
• Collaborate across the university to promote international student opportunities
• Support the continued growth of global study and work experiences for students
• Undertake occasional international travel

Requirements

• Experience as a Global Opportunities specialist
• Ability to lead an international student exchanges team
• Experience managing international exchange partnership agreements
• Ability to contribute to strategic direction and partnership development
• Capacity to collaborate across a university environment
• Willingness to undertake occasional international travel
