Accounts Payable Assistant

Our client is seeking an Accounts Payable Assistant to take ownership of the purchase ledger function operating across Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland. The successful candidate will manage supplier invoices, reconciliations and payment runs across multiple companies, currencies and finance systems, while playing a trusted role within the Finance team.

Based onsite at Duncrue Crescent, Belfast, the role operates Monday to Thursday from 8.00am to 5.00pm and Friday from 8.00am to 1.00pm. This consistent working pattern provides clear structure and the opportunity to collaborate closely with Purchasing, Distribution and operational teams.

The Role:

• Process invoices and credit notes, matching them to purchase orders and goods received records.
• Prepare supplier payment runs across GBP and EUR.
• Reconcile supplier statements, control GRNI balances and support month end close.
• Investigate discrepancies and maintain accurate audit trails.

The Person:

• Previous Accounts Payable or purchase ledger experience.
• Strong reconciliation, problem solving and numerical accuracy skills.
• Experience with invoice processing, supplier payments and purchase order matching.
• Good Microsoft Excel, organisational and communication skills.
• Experience in retail, distribution, multi currency environments or Microsoft Dynamics NAV is desirable.
