The Opportunity

SKM Impact Solutions is recruiting for an experienced Renewable Electrician to join a growing business delivering renewable energy projects across the UK.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced and reliable electrician who wants to build their career within the renewable energy sector and work across a genuinely varied range of technologies and projects.

Rather than being limited to one particular type of installation, you'll be involved in projects covering solar PV, battery storage, air source heat pumps and EV charging equipment across both domestic and commercial environments.

You'll be trusted to work independently while also being part of a wider project team, working closely with project managers, site teams, clients and residents to deliver high quality, compliant installations.

The role is Midlands based, with projects located throughout the UK, so you must be comfortable with regular travel and overnight stays when required.

What You'll Be Doing

You'll support the successful delivery of renewable energy projects across the UK, with responsibilities including:

• Completing electrical installations associated with solar PV systems

• Installing and commissioning battery storage systems

• Installing EV charging equipment

• Completing electrical works associated with air source heat pump installations

• Installing and upgrading consumer units, protective devices, generation meters, isolators and associated electrical equipment

• Carrying out testing, inspection, commissioning and fault finding

• Completing remedial and maintenance works on existing renewable energy systems

• Ensuring installations comply with current electrical regulations, manufacturer instructions and project specifications

• Completing all required certificates, commissioning records, photographs and handover documentation

• Liaising professionally with residents, clients, site teams and project managers

• Working safely in occupied homes, social housing properties and commercial environments

• Identifying technical or safety concerns and reporting them promptly

• Maintaining company tools, equipment, materials and vehicles

• Travelling to projects throughout the UK and staying away from home when required

Essential Qualifications and Experience

We're looking for an experienced electrician with a strong technical background who takes pride in delivering safe, compliant and high quality work.

You'll need:

• AM2

• NVQ Level 3 Electrical Installation qualification, or equivalent

• Current BS th Edition qualification

• Inspection and Testing qualification, such as City & Guilds 2391 or equivalent

• ECS or CSCS card

• Proven experience completing electrical installations and testing

• Strong knowledge of electrical regulations and safe working practices

• Full UK driving licence

• Willingness and flexibility to travel throughout the UK

• Ability to work independently and as part of a wider project team

• Good customer service and communication skills

• Ability to complete accurate electrical and project documentation

Desirable Experience

Previous renewable energy experience would be particularly valuable, including experience in any of the following areas:

• Solar PV installation and commissioning

• Battery storage systems

• EV charging equipment

• Electrical works associated with air source heat pumps

• MCS compliant renewable installations

• Domestic and commercial electrical systems

• Social housing or occupied property installations

• DNO requirements, including G98 and G99

• Manufacturer training for recognised solar, battery or EV products

• SSSTS, IPAF, PASMA or asbestos awareness training
