Fabric Engineer - Static

EC2Y, Coleman Street, Greater London
£36000 - £40000/annum 25 days hols, OT available

Every building has someone who quietly keeps it looking and working the way it should. A door that swings properly, a wall that's been put right, a problem fixed before anyone has noticed it. If that's the kind of tradesperson you are, we'd like to hear from you.

We're recruiting on behalf of a well-established national facilities management provider, looking for a skilled Fabric Technician to look after a prestigious commercial building in central London. You'll be the go-to person for the building fabric, handling both planned and reactive maintenance, and lending a hand with mechanical and electrical works when the team needs it. It's a varied, hands-on role where your work is seen and appreciated every day.

THE ROLE

  • Maintaining and repairing doors, door frames and their fittings
  • Looking after internal areas, including walls, partitions, ceilings and skirtings
  • Carrying out carpentry repairs, from larger jobs through to the small everyday fixes
  • Painting and decorating to a neat, consistent finish
  • Supporting the team with plumbing maintenance, water temperature checks and fire extinguisher servicing
  • Helping with planned maintenance and additional works in line with health and safety requirements
  • Completing timesheets and maintenance records accurately and on time
  • Working alongside the contract manager, building management and other specialists on site

WHO WE'D LOVE TO HEAR FROM

  • City & Guilds or an equivalent qualification, and/or solid experience in commercial building maintenance
  • Good painting and decorating skills, with a real eye for detail
  • Confident across a mix of trades and happy to turn your hand to whatever the day brings
  • A friendly, professional manner with the people who use the building
  • Organised, reliable and keen to keep improving

WHAT'S ON OFFER

  • Salary of approximately £36,000 to £40,000 per annum, depending on experience
  • Monday to Friday, day shifts only, 40 hours a week (8 hours a day)
  • 25 days' annual leave plus bank holidays
  • Company pension, with 5% employee and 4% employer contributions
  • Overtime available at enhanced rates: time and a half outside normal hours Monday to Friday and up to 12.30pm on Saturday, then double time from 1pm on Saturday and all day Sunday
  • The chance to work with a respected national employer in a landmark central London building

If you're a fabric tradesperson looking for a stable, Monday to Friday role in the heart of London, send me your up-to-date CV and I'll give you a call for a confidential chat about the position
