Quantity Surveyor – Social Housing / Planned Works / Refurbishment

Location: Staffordshire | Permanent | Competitive Salary + Package

We are recruiting for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join an established and highly respected national property maintenance and refurbishment contractor with a significant workload across the social housing and public sectors.

The business delivers a wide range of planned maintenance, refurbishment, retrofit and property improvement programmes, working with housing associations, local authorities and other major clients.

With long-term contracts, established client relationships and a varied pipeline of work, this is an excellent opportunity for a commercially strong Quantity Surveyor looking for stability, responsibility and genuine career progression.

The Role

As Quantity Surveyor, you'll take commercial responsibility for planned maintenance and refurbishment projects, working closely with operational teams to ensure contracts are delivered efficiently, profitably and in accordance with client requirements.

Projects can involve kitchen and bathroom replacement programmes, roofing, windows and doors, external refurbishment, fire safety improvements, retrofit and wider property investment works.

Your responsibilities will include:

Commercial management of planned works and refurbishment contracts

Subcontractor procurement and management

Applications, valuations and payments

Monthly CVRs, forecasting and cost reporting

Managing variations and contractual change

Monitoring budgets, expenditure and profitability

Preparing and negotiating final accounts

Working closely with operational and client teams

Identifying commercial risks and opportunities

Maintaining accurate contractual and financial records

Supporting the successful delivery of multiple workstreams

Your Background

We're particularly interested in Quantity Surveyors who have experience within social housing, planned maintenance, refurbishment or property improvement works.

Ideally, you'll have:

Previous Quantity Surveying experience within construction or maintenance

Experience working on planned works or refurbishment contracts

Strong subcontractor procurement and management skills

Good CVR, forecasting and cost reporting experience

Excellent contractual and commercial awareness

Confidence managing multiple projects or workstreams

Strong communication and negotiation skills

A relevant Quantity Surveying qualification would be advantageous

Experience within social housing, kitchens and bathrooms, roofing, external works, retrofit or decarbonisation would be particularly attractive.

Why Consider This Opportunity?

This is an opportunity to join an established national contractor with a substantial presence across property maintenance, refurbishment and housing improvement.

The business has a strong history of delivering long-term contracts and provides the opportunity to work across a diverse portfolio of projects rather than being restricted to one type of construction activity.

For an ambitious Quantity Surveyor, there is genuine scope to take increasing commercial responsibility and progress towards Senior Quantity Surveyor level.

Salary & Package

Competitive salary + package, dependent upon experience.

If you're an experienced Quantity Surveyor with a background in social housing, planned maintenance or refurbishment, please send me your CV or contact me directly for a confidential conversation.
