Building Services Engineer

City of London, Greater London
£58000 - £62000/annum

We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced Multi-Disciplined Building Services Engineer to join our team, carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM), reactive maintenance and remedial works across a portfolio of commercial properties.

The successful candidate will have a strong multi-skilled background in building services, with experience across mechanical and electrical systems, HVAC, air conditioning, ventilation, plumbing and general building maintenance. You will be responsible for diagnosing faults, carrying out repairs, maintaining plant and equipment, and ensuring all building services operate safely and efficiently.

The role will involve responding to reactive maintenance requests, identifying faults, completing repairs, and ensuring all works are carried out to a high standard and in line with relevant health and safety regulations. You will also be required to complete maintenance reports, update job sheets, liaise with clients and subcontractors, and ensure all work is completed within agreed timescales.

Candidates with experience in commercial maintenance environments will be particularly desirable, alongside a strong understanding of statutory compliance, safe working practices and building management systems.

An F-Gas qualification is preferred, with hands-on experience in air conditioning and refrigeration systems being a distinct advantage. Relevant electrical or mechanical qualifications, alongside experience in HVAC systems and general building services maintenance, are highly desirable.

The ideal candidate will be proactive, reliable and well organised, with excellent fault-finding abilities and the confidence to work independently while delivering a professional service to clients and building occupants.

Key Requirements:

  • Previous experience as a Multi-Disciplined Building Services Engineer within commercial environments.
  • Strong mechanical and electrical maintenance knowledge.
  • Experience with HVAC, air conditioning, ventilation and plumbing systems.
  • Competent in planned preventative maintenance, reactive maintenance and fault finding.
  • F-Gas qualification preferred.
  • Relevant trade qualifications desirable.
  • Good understanding of health and safety and statutory compliance.
  • Full UK driving licence preferred, depending on site requirements.
  • Strong communication skills and a customer-focused approach
