Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer

Glossop, Derbyshire
£44000 - £50000/annum

We’re looking for an experienced Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join a well-established business providing specialist services from its site in Glossop.

There are opportunities available for both Mechanical and Electrical biased Engineers, with the role offering a good mix of planned maintenance, reactive fault-finding, installations and project work.

You’ll play an important part in keeping the site’s plant and production equipment running safely and efficiently, working across a broad range of machinery including pumps, gearboxes, vessels, mixers, pipework and valves. This is a hands-on position with plenty of variety, suited to someone who enjoys solving problems and getting involved across both day-to-day maintenance and larger improvement projects.

What’s on offer?

  • £44,000 – £50,000 per year
  • Annual pay increases
  • Monday – Friday | 8:00am – 4:30pm
  • Overtime available at 1.5x
  • High street retail vouchers
  • Varied role covering maintenance, installations and projects
  • Long-term opportunity within an established site engineering team

What will you be doing as a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer?

  • Carrying out planned and reactive maintenance across site machinery and equipment
  • Installing mechanical equipment including vessels, hoppers, mixers, pipework and valves
  • Removing, modifying and refitting pipework across the plant
  • Servicing, maintaining and repairing pumps, gearboxes, bearings, valves and associated equipment
  • Diagnosing mechanical and/or electrical faults and carrying out effective repairs
  • Responding to breakdowns and working to minimise production downtime
  • Supporting machinery installations, modifications and plant improvement projects
  • Assisting with upgrades and improvements to existing equipment

What do you need?

  • Previous experience within a Maintenance Engineer, Mechanical Fitter, Electrical Engineer or Multi-Skilled Engineering role
  • Apprenticeship-trained, NVQ qualified or equivalent practical engineering experience
  • Strong mechanical and/or electrical fault-finding ability
  • Hands-on experience maintaining industrial machinery and production equipment
  • Good knowledge of components such as pumps, gearboxes, bearings, motors, valves and pipework
  • Confidence diagnosing faults and working independently to resolve breakdowns
  • Proactive approach to preventative maintenance and equipment reliability
  • Experience within a chemical, process, manufacturing or heavy industrial environment would be advantageous
  • Good awareness of Health & Safety within an industrial environment

This would suit an engineer who enjoys a genuinely varied maintenance role rather than spending every day carrying out the same routine tasks. You’ll be working across breakdowns, servicing, installations and projects, with the opportunity to use a broad range of engineering skills.

If you’re a maintenance professional looking for a day-shift role with strong earning potential and plenty of technical variety, apply today for consideration or speak with Jack at KPJ Group for more information between 9:00am – 5:00pm Monday – Friday.
