Contract: Temporary – initially 1 month, with the possibility of extension

Job Description

SWIFT Temps Ltd is currently recruiting for an experienced Sales Order Processor / Administrator to work within a busy manufacturing environment.

This is a fast-paced role requiring someone with previous sales order processing or similar administrative experience who can quickly adapt to the business's systems and processes. Due to the workload, the successful candidate must be confident working independently, using their initiative and managing customer enquiries with minimal supervision following an initial handover.

Key Responsibilities

• Receive, process and administer customer sales orders accurately and efficiently.
• Respond to customer enquiries and resolve queries professionally.
• Investigate customer requirements and provide appropriate quotations.
• Liaise with customers and internal departments to ensure orders are processed correctly.
• Assist with shipping and dispatch administration.
• Complete general office and administrative duties as required.
• Maintain accurate order records and associated documentation.
• Prioritise workload effectively in a busy manufacturing environment.

Skills and Experience Required

• Previous experience in sales order processing, sales administration or a similar customer-focused administrative role.
• Experience working in a manufacturing, engineering or similar technical environment would be advantageous.
• Confidence investigating customer enquiries and preparing suitable quotations.
• Strong administrative skills with excellent attention to detail.
• Good customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently, use initiative and manage competing priorities.
• A flexible and proactive approach, with the ability to get up to speed quickly.
• Competent IT skills and the ability to learn new systems.

Working Hours

Monday – Thursday 8.00 – 4.30

Friday 8.00 – 3.30

What the Role Offers

• £14.50 per hour.
• An initial one-month temporary assignment.
• Potential for the assignment to be extended, depending on business requirements.
