Location: Central Scotland – Glasgow to Edinburgh (M8 Corridor)
Basic Salary: £36,000 – £40,000 DOE
Potential Earnings: £50,000 – £60,000 per annum with overtime

The Opportunity Talent Guardian are recruiting for an experienced Field Service Engineer to join a well-established and growing engineering business, providing specialist technical support to customers across a variety of industrial and manufacturing environments.

This is an excellent opportunity for an electrically biased engineer who enjoys working independently, solving technical problems and building strong customer relationships.

You'll be responsible for installing, servicing, maintaining and repairing specialist industrial equipment at customer sites, ensuring machinery operates safely, efficiently and reliably.

The position is field based, covering the Central Scotland region, with occasional travel further afield and overnight stays when required.

With a competitive basic salary, plenty of overtime opportunities and additional on-call earnings, this role offers the potential to earn £50,000 – £60,000 per year.

The Role As a Field Service Engineer, your responsibilities will include:

Carrying out planned servicing, maintenance and repairs on specialist industrial equipment at customer sites.
Diagnosing and resolving electrical, electronic and mechanical faults.
Installing, commissioning and testing equipment to ensure optimal performance.
Carrying out equipment calibration, upgrades and refurbishments.
Providing technical guidance and basic equipment training to customers.
Responding to customer enquiries and delivering a high standard of service.
Completing accurate service reports and technical documentation.
Providing remote technical support via telephone and email when required.
Working safely and following customer site health and safety procedures.
Participating in an on-call rota once fully established in the role.
Developing technical knowledge through ongoing product training. About You We're looking for someone who has:

A recognised engineering qualification, ideally BTEC, ONC, HNC or equivalent in Electrical, Electronic or Electromechanical Engineering.
Strong electrical and electronic fault-finding skills.
Experience working with industrial machinery, automated equipment or manufacturing systems.
Previous experience in a field service, maintenance or technical engineering role.
A logical and methodical approach to diagnosing and resolving faults.
Good IT skills and confidence using computer-based diagnostic systems.
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
The ability to manage their own workload and work independently.
A full UK driving licence.
Flexibility to travel, work occasional overtime and stay away overnight when required. Desirable but not essential:

PLC fault finding or programming knowledge.
Experience with industrial automation or control systems.
Previous experience installing, commissioning or calibrating technical equipment.
Experience working in food manufacturing, packaging, FMCG or other industrial production environments. What's on Offer?
