Design Engineer

A manufacturing client located in Clacton-On-Sea are currently recruiting for a Design Engineer to join their growing team.

This is a permanent position, paying between £35,000 - £38,000 per annum (depending upon experience).

Overview:
As a Design Engineer, you will be required to manage multiple projects from concept through to completion.

Duties:

You will be required to lead and manage project priorities and deliverables
Liaise with the engineering, project, buying and manufacturing teams internally, throughout the project lifecycle
Provide technical guidance, coaching and drawing reviews for junior designers
Look at continuous improvement methods where possible
DfMA (Design for Manufacture & Assembly) across all projects
Develop automated design tool models, whilst also revisiting existing design applications

Candidate requirements:

Good understanding of Design for Manufacture and Assembly (DfMA) principles
Proficient in AutoCAD, Solidworks or Autodesk Inventor
Track record in managing multiple projects at once
Strong decision making and communication skills
Over 5 years’ experience working as a Design Engineer within a manufacturing or engineering environment
