Around £70,000 + Company Van + Accommodation & Expenses + 26 Days Holiday + Pension + Private Healthcare

Excellent opportunity for an experienced HV Commissioning Engineer to join an established, close-knit electrical infrastructure business with a strong pipeline of work and the opportunity to play a key role in its continued growth.

The business is looking to expand its commissioning team with someone who can independently deliver HV switchgear testing and commissioning across a varied portfolio of projects nationwide. You'll have genuine ownership of your work, access to further training where desired, and the chance to join a business that values its people, offers flexibility and recognises those who make a real contribution.

The role involves nationwide travel, with overnight stays during the working week. A company van is provided, with accommodation and travel expenses covered, alongside paid door-to-door travel.

The Role:

  • Carry out hands-on testing and commissioning of HV switchgear and associated electrical equipment
  • Perform electrical testing, fault-finding and verification to ensure equipment is ready for safe energisation
  • Work across a variety of sites and projects nationwide, taking responsibility for delivering commissioning activities independently
  • Interpret electrical drawings, schematics and technical specifications to complete commissioning work
  • Produce test results, commissioning reports and associated technical documentation
  • Work closely with the existing commissioning team to deliver projects safely and effectively
  • Access further training and development opportunities depending on your experience and interests

The Person:

  • Proven hands-on experience testing and commissioning HV switchgear
  • Experience working on HV substations and associated electrical equipment
  • Able to carry out testing and commissioning independently, rather than primarily assisting other engineers
  • Strong practical knowledge of HV equipment, electrical testing and fault-finding
  • Able to read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics and technical documentation
  • Full UK driving licence and the right to work in the UK
  • Comfortable travelling nationwide and staying away from home during the working week

This is a great opportunity to join a growing business with a supportive, close-knit culture where people are valued and individual contributions are recognised. With a varied workload, genuine responsibility, paid travel and overtime, and opportunities to develop your technical skills, this role offers the chance to build a long-term future within an established electrical infrastructure team
