Site Engineer

Site Engineer: Civil Engineering / Major Infrastructure

We are looking for a Site Engineer with a strong civil engineering background to work on a major underground infrastructure project in North West London.

The project forms part of a major upgrade to London's electricity transmission network, involving underground tunnels and associated civil engineering infrastructure.

The role will involve supporting the delivery of construction works, coordinating with Sub Agents and subcontractors, managing engineering documentation and ensuring works are completed in accordance with drawings, specifications and project requirements.

Responsibilities

Ensure construction works are carried out in accordance with drawings, specifications and project requirements.

Undertake setting out and surveying activities.

Coordinate construction activities with Sub Agents, supervisors and subcontractors.

Review drawings, identify missing information and raise technical queries.

Ensure permits, inductions, task briefings and RAMS are in place before works commence.

Monitor site activities, identify non-conformances and maintain quality standards.

Assist with temporary works coordination and ensure approved solutions are implemented.

Maintain accurate site records, progress reports and subcontractor documentation.

Record variations, delays and changes to subcontractor scopes of work.

Assist with KPIs, material reconciliation and progress reporting.

Ensure engineering equipment is calibrated and maintained.

Support the site management team with construction delivery and compliance.

Requirements

Degree in Civil Engineering or a relevant engineering discipline.

Previous Site Engineering experience on civil engineering or infrastructure projects.

Strong civil engineering background, ideally involving tunnelling, underground civils or major infrastructure.

Experience in setting out, surveying and interpreting construction drawings.

Knowledge of temporary works, RAMS and construction quality procedures.

Experience coordinating with subcontractors and site teams.

Basic commercial and contractual awareness.

Good understanding of construction methods, specifications and site documentation.
