About MotionTech

The Role

As a Mechanical Fitter, you'll be assembling conveyor systems in the workshop, making sure each build is put together correctly, safely and ready for the customer.

It's hands-on work, and getting the details right matters. You'll be working from models, drawings and build instructions to make sure everything fits, aligns and functions as it should.

What You'll Be Doing

You'll:

Assemble conveyor frames, rollers, guards and drive units to models, drawings and build instructions

Use hand and power tools to cut, drill, fix and adjust parts

Check each build for fit, alignment and finish before it moves on

Flag missing or faulty parts to the foreman early

Keep your work area tidy and safe

Help out across the workshop when priorities change

Good attention to detail, with a focus on building equipment correctly, safely and to a high standard

Able to work safely in a workshop environment and follow health and safety procedures

Physically comfortable with a hands-on role involving lifting, moving and assembling components

Reliable, organised and able to work independently as well as as part of a wider engineering team

A genuine mechanical mindset and an interest in understanding how machinery and equipment work

Useful, not essential:

Previous experience assembling conveyors, machinery, automation systems or other mechanical equipment

Experience with conveyor installation or mechanical assembly

Experience working within an engineering, manufacturing or industrial environment
