SEND Teaching Assistant - Primary Support

Aspire People are recruiting a qualified and experienced SEND Teaching Assistant to support pupils within a welcoming primary school in North Manchester.

This opportunity would suit someone with a strong understanding of additional needs who is passionate about helping children develop their communication, independence and confidence within an inclusive learning environment.

The Role:

• Providing 1:1 and small-group support for pupils with SEND
• Supporting children with autism, speech and language needs and developmental delays
• Adapting learning activities to meet individual needs and abilities
• Supporting classroom routines, transitions and emotional regulation
• Encouraging communication, engagement and independence
• Working closely with teachers and other support staff
• Supporting personal care where required

Essential Requirements:

• A recognised Level 3 qualification or above in Teaching Assistance, Supporting Teaching and Learning, SEND or an equivalent relevant qualification
• Practical experience supporting children with SEND in a school or relevant educational setting
• A patient, nurturing and adaptable approach
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• A commitment to safeguarding and inclusive education

Candidates with experience in specialist provisions, autism settings or early intervention are particularly encouraged to apply.
