Heating Engineer / Gas Boiler Installer

Pay: £21.88 per hour PAYE (negotiable for the right candidate)
Location: North Northamptonshire
Contract: Temporary – 3-month rolling contract
Start Date: 2 November 2026
Hours: 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 9:00am–5:30pm
IR35 Status: Inside IR35

### About the Role

Lynx Employment Services is recruiting an experienced Heating Engineer / Gas Boiler Installer for an ongoing contract opportunity in North Northamptonshire.
This is a predominantly boiler installation role, working across occupied and void residential properties, with occasional gas safety checks, servicing and heating system repairs.
We are looking for a qualified, Gas Safe registered engineer with strong domestic boiler installation experience who can work independently and deliver high-quality workmanship.

### Key Responsibilities

Carry out domestic gas boiler installations and heating system replacements.

Undertake gas safety inspections, testing and certification when required.

Diagnose and repair faults within domestic heating systems.

Complete planned installation works, maintenance and remedial repairs.

Work safely within both occupied and vacant residential properties.

Complete job reports, certification and work orders using mobile devices.

Ensure all work complies with current gas safety regulations and health and safety requirements.

Maintain tools, equipment, materials and vehicle stock.

Participate in an out-of-hours call-out rota when required.
### Essential Requirements

Current Gas Safe registration.
CCN1 – Core Domestic Gas Safety.
CPA1, CKR1, CENWAT1, MET1 and HTR1.
Range Cooker and Unvented Hot Water qualifications.
Proven experience in domestic boiler installations and heating system repairs.
Full, valid UK driving licence.
Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively.
Good communication and customer service skills.
Willingness to undertake additional training, including asbestos awareness where required.
Experience working within social housing or housing maintenance would be advantageous.
