Rotherwood Education are currently recruiting for a reliable and enthusiastic Cover Supervisor to join a supportive secondary school in the Burnley area. This is a full-time position, offering an excellent opportunity for an experienced education professional to support pupils across a range of subjects and year groups.

Position Details

Job Title: Cover Supervisor

Location: Burnley area, Lancashire

Start Date: ASAP

Contract Type: Full-time

Daily Rate: £80 – £100 per day, depending on experience

About the Cover Supervisor Role

Supervise classes across KS3 and KS4 in the absence of the regular teacher

Deliver pre-planned lessons and ensure pupils remain focused on their work

Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies

Support pupils with their learning and answer questions where appropriate

Maintain a positive, calm and productive classroom environment

Provide feedback to teaching staff regarding pupil engagement and behaviour

Work across a range of subjects and year groups

Follow school safeguarding, behaviour and health and safety procedures

The Ideal Cover Supervisor Will

Have previous experience working with children or young people in an educational setting

Have experience supervising classes or groups of pupils

Be confident managing classroom behaviour and maintaining high expectations

Have excellent communication and organisational skills

Be adaptable and confident working across different subjects and year groups

Be committed to supporting pupils' learning and development

Be committed to the safeguarding of children and young people

Provide details of the 2 most recent references, covering the last 5 years' work history

Possess a current DBS check or be prepared to apply for one as part of registration

Be willing to complete a face-to-face registration and satisfy the required safeguarding and compliance checks
