Based in London, this is a senior commercial opportunity for an ambitious sales professional with an established understanding of Nordic institutional investors, a strong network across the region, and a proven track record of winning new business and developing strategic client relationships.

The Opportunity

You will take ownership of regional business development, actively prospecting new clients, strengthening existing relationships and promoting the bank’s investment capabilities. A key priority will be expanding the mandate business alongside fund distribution, contributing to sustainable growth in assets, revenues and client relationships.

The position requires regular travel throughout the five Nordic countries to engage with institutional investors, develop new opportunities and strengthen the bank’s presence in the region.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead institutional client coverage and business development across the Nordic region.
  • Develop and execute a targeted commercial strategy across pension funds, insurance companies, corporates, foundations and single-family offices.
  • Identify, prospect and convert new institutional clients, generating new assets, revenues and long-term commercial relationships.
  • Expand existing client relationships through cross-selling and the promotion of relevant investment strategies and solutions.
  • Drive growth in institutional mandates alongside fund sales, supporting a more diversified and sustainable revenue base.
  • Develop a thorough understanding of the bank’s investment strategies, mandate capabilities and partnerships to address clients’ specific requirements.
  • Build the bank’s profile and reputation within the Nordic institutional market through industry events, client meetings, roadshows and targeted marketing initiatives.
  • Collaborate closely with portfolio managers, investment specialists, marketing teams and institutional sales colleagues across other regions.
  • Maintain accurate CRM records, monitor the sales pipeline and provide regular reporting on commercial progress and opportunities.
  • Deliver against key performance indicators, including revenue growth, gross sales, net new cash, new mandates, new client acquisition and cross-selling.

Candidate Profile

  • Degree-level education in Economics, Finance or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of 5–7 years’ demonstrable experience in a successful, client-facing institutional sales role.
  • A strong understanding of Nordic institutional investors and the regional investment landscape.
  • A proven ability to originate new business, develop senior client relationships and convert prospects into commercial opportunities.
  • Experience selling investment solutions and, ideally, securing institutional investment mandates.
  • Excellent organisational, planning and prioritisation skills, with the resilience and persistence required to develop new business.
  • Experience using CRM systems, such as Salesforce, to manage client relationships and sales pipelines.
  • Fluent professional English; Danish, Swedish, Norwegian or Finnish language skills would be an advantage.
  • Willingness to travel regularly throughout the Nordic region.

The Package

  • Location: London
  • Employment: Permanent
  • Salary: Circa £140,000, subject to experience and overall package
