Central London (Hybrid)
A leading global investment bank wants you to join as a C++ Developer to its Delta One trading team in London. This role sits directly alongside a well-established electronic trading business responsible for supporting equity execution and FX hedging activity across multiple regions.
The team has built and evolved a sophisticated algorithmic trading platform over several years and is now looking for an engineer who can help drive its next phase of development while becoming a key technology partner to the trading desk.
This is an opportunity to work on low-latency, high-performance trading infrastructure where your work has a direct impact on live trading performance, execution quality, and business outcomes.
All levels of experience will be considered but someone with 3-8 years of experience would be ideal.
The Role
This is a high-impact front-office engineering role combining C++ development, electronic trading, production support, and direct trader engagement.
- Enhancing and maintaining a live algorithmic execution platform supporting the Delta One equities business.
- Developing and improving order execution, routing, and trading gateway functionality.
- Working directly with traders to understand requirements and deliver enhancements that improve execution performance.
- Investigating and resolving production issues within a live trading environment.
- Supporting testing, certification, compliance, and release processes for trading systems.
- Collaborating with developers, QA teams, network engineers, infrastructure teams, and business stakeholders across London, North America, and wider technology groups.
- Becoming a key engineering owner for the London trading platform over time.
What We're Looking For
- Strong commercial C++ development experience, ideally C++17 or later.
- Experience building or supporting electronic trading systems.
- Strong understanding of OMS, EMS, order execution, order routing, trading gateways, or exchange connectivity.
- Experience supporting production trading environments and investigating live incidents.
- Exposure to equities, futures, FX, ETFs, swaps, or related capital markets products.
- Strong stakeholder communication skills with the ability to work directly with front-office users.
- Experience with FIX connectivity, native exchange protocols, or trading venue integration would be highly beneficial.
- Knowledge of Broadridge TBricks is advantageous but not essential.
- Python experience is a plus.
Why This Role
- Direct exposure to front-office trading and revenue-generating systems.
- Opportunity to take ownership of a business-critical algorithmic trading platform.
- Work within a highly scalable, low-latency technology environment.
- Collaborate closely with traders and senior technology leadership across international markets.
- Contract position with strong likelihood of extension on a long-term strategic programme.
