Person specification

Qualifications

Essential criteria

• Full GMC Registration and Licence to Practice
• MBBS or equivalent
• Holds CCT or equivalent or will obtain within 6 months of interview date
• Must be entered on the Specialist Register for Clinical Oncology on date of taking appointment (or entry within 6 months)

Desirable criteria

• Higher research or educational degree

Experience and Skills

Essential criteria

• Trained Clinical Supervisor
• Wide experience of Oncology practice- including relevant experience in Radiotherapy and chemotherapy

Desirable criteria

• Trained Educational Supervisor
• Stereotactic radiotherapy experience

Management

Essential criteria

• Evidence of Clinical Leadership
• Evidence of commitment to audit and improving clinical practice/service development

Desirable criteria

• Formal management training

Personal

Essential criteria

• Effective communication skills.
• Good organisation skills.
• Works well within a multidisciplinary environment.
• Committed to collating and responding to patient feedback in line with revalidation recommendations
• Resident within 30 minutes travel time to Preston

Research and Development

Essential criteria

• Evidence of interest in personal development e.g. through research and/or publications
• Thorough understanding of medical audit - Must have undertaken and completed audit projects.
