After ten successful years, the current Finance Director is retiring. The appointment is a planned succession, supported by an established finance team and a comprehensive handover.

Everlast plans to continue growing and evolving organically, develop the Group’s capabilities, pursue aligned opportunities and consider selective acquisitions. Working closely with the executive team, the new Finance Director will be instrumental in shaping this next phase, assessing opportunities and helping to drive them forward.

WHY IS EVERLAST RECRUITING A GROUP FINANCE DIRECTOR? Mark Buttree is retiring after ten successful years leading the finance function. He leaves an established team and will provide a comprehensive handover. His successor will build on those foundations while developing the contribution finance makes across the Group. WHO WILL THE FINANCE DIRECTOR WORK WITH? The Finance Director will work closely with the executive team and report to the Group Managing Director. WHAT WILL THE FINANCE DIRECTOR BE INVOLVED IN? Alongside leading finance, the successful candidate will contribute to planning, performance, investment, funding and growth decisions. This will include supporting organic development, assessing aligned opportunities and helping the Group consider selective acquisitions. WHAT ARE THE INITIAL PRIORITIES? The initial priorities include improving the quality and speed of information, strengthening visibility of contract performance and cash, developing finance systems and creating closer links between finance, commercial and operations. IS CONSTRUCTION EXPERIENCE ESSENTIAL? Construction experience would be useful, but it is not the only relevant background. Everlast is also interested in experienced finance leaders from project-based engineering, infrastructure, contracting and technical services who understand project economics, working capital, cash and commercial risk. WHERE IS THE ROLE BASED? The role is based in Leeds, West Yorkshire. Everlast Group is headquartered at The Lock, 8 George Mann Road, Leeds, LS10 1DJ.
