About us

Hi! I'm Jacob, founder of Liverpool Podcast Studios, the UK's leading video-first podcast and content production studio in the heart of Liverpool.

Many people don't know this, but LPS was born out of my spare bedroom in the lockdown of 2020. It was never meant to be a business, and in a way it still isn't run like one. Every decision I've made since has come from an obsessive passion for creating world-class content and looking after the people we make it for, and that's it.

We're in the business of world-class client experience, caring deeply about the impact our work has on our clients. Our clients come to us (many for the first time) and put their reputation, their clients, their guests, in our hands. And that responsibility is something we take incredibly seriously.

About the role

The Podcast Producer is the person who owns our clients' content from start to finish. You'll be welcoming clients into the studio, running their session on the day, and taking it all the way through to post-production and delivery, with a producer's eye on what makes content actually land.

Day to day, you'll be:

• Running studio sessions end to end , including setting up, live mixing the video/audio during the recording, taking detailed editing notes as you go and carrying out post-production and delivery of a range of deliverables from each session.
• Supporting clients on the day making sure they're comfortable enough to deliver their best content, and also offering advice and strategic guidance on their content format and approach.
• Whatever you're great at. Some of the best things in this business came from someone on the team saying "what if we tried this?" You'll have the creative freedom to get involved wherever your skills take you, whether that's our own content, developing the studio and our services, or trying something none of us have thought of yet.

Requirements

You'll be working directly alongside me and a very small team, so who you are matters as much as what you can do.

• A people person first. You're naturally warm and have an ability to make people feel comfortable without having to force it (bonus if you can make good brews).
• Podcast and content strategy. You have a deep understanding of what makes podcasts and video content actually work, and can translate that into a whole production process for our clients.
• Excellent technical skill and experience across all areas of production including video, audio, lighting and post-production.
• Organised, reliable and calm under pressure.
• You want a career, not just a job. There's real room here to grow, be creative, build relationships that last, and shape the direction of the business and your own career with it. If you want to plod along, this isn't the place. If you want to have an impact, it absolutely is.

Bonus skills and experience

• Digital marketing
• Social media
• Graphic design
• Motion graphics
• Company pension scheme
• Clear scope for growth with the company
• A dynamic and supportive creative environment

Liverpool Podcast Studios is an equal opportunity employer. We welcome applications from people of all backgrounds, and we're committed to building an inclusive team where everyone feels comfortable being themselves. It's the same thing we promise our clients.
