Hours: 8 hours every Saturday, plus additional hours to cover holidays and sickness when required

A friendly lady living with Huntington's Disease is looking for a caring, patient and reliable Personal Assistant to provide support in her own home.

Duties will include:

• Assisting with meal preparation
• Providing support with light household tasks
• Playing games and providing companionship
• Supporting with toileting and personal care when required
• Helping to maintain independence and quality of life and support to access the community
• Providing general day-to-day support in a respectful and dignified manner

About You:

• Kind, patient and understanding
• Must like dogs and be comfortable around pets
• Able to communicate sensitively and give extra time for speech and communication, as the employer's speech is affected by her condition
• Reliable, trustworthy and caring
• Previous care experience is desirable but not essential, as full guidance can be provided for the right person

This is a rewarding opportunity to support a lady in her own home and help her enjoy a good quality of life. The successful applicant will need to be patient and understanding, particularly when communicating, and willing to build a positive and supportive working relationship.
