# Senior Systems Administrator – Kubernetes, MySQL,September 16, 2025### Job DescriptionWe are seeking an experienced **Senior Systems Administrator** on behalf of our client in London. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining mission-critical infrastructure while ensuring the highest levels of performance, security, and availability.### Key Responsibilities* Design, install, and configure internal and customer-facing servers, network devices, and firewalls.* Proactively manage and maintain server, network, and firewall systems.* Administer and support core Microsoft and VMware technologies.* Develop and implement project plans, risk assessments, and contingency strategies.* Design and implement monitoring, configuration management, and reporting functions to ensure a hands-off environment.* Define and document best practices and support procedures.* Provide after-hours support for infrastructure-related emergencies and occasional weekend maintenance.* Maintain inventory and asset configuration documentation.* Assist with the evaluation, recommendation, and negotiation of hardware, firewall, telecom, and software vendors.* Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field (preferred).* Strong expertise in **Kubernetes administration**, including cluster setup, upgrades, security, and monitoring.* Proven experience with **MySQL in production environments**, particularly with high-performance and replication architectures.* Hands-on experience with **AWS cloud infrastructure** (EKS, RDS (MySQL), CloudFront, Route 53, etc.).* Solid understanding of **networking and communications**, including TCP/IP, DNS, load balancing, CDNs, and firewall/WAF management.* Good knowledge of **Linux administration** and shell scripting.* Familiarity with **CI/CD tools** such as ArgoCD, Jenkins, etc.Salary £65k – £70k based on experience with benefits package.Location,Experience levelMid–Senior level## Work Location
