Interim Commercial Lead £525 p/d

Location: London - Hybrid (approx. 50% office-based 2-3 days p/w)
Contract: Temporary contract 6 months
Rate: upto £520 per day Umbrella, Inside IR35
Client: Major Transport Organisation

An Interim Commercial Lead to join a major UK Transport organisation's Procurement & Commercial function, leading a team on programmes and renewal programmes. This would suit candidate with people management/team leadership and Public Sector Industry experience or any experience in Rail or Transport industry.

This is a high-profile, stakeholder-facing opportunity where you'll take ownership of pre-contract procurement and sourcing activity, from defining requirements and developing sourcing strategies through to tender, negotiation and contract award.

The Role:

• Lead end-to-end sourcing and procurement activities from initial requirement through to contract execution.
• Develop and implement effective sourcing strategies.
• Manage a small team of Commercial individuals
• Run competitive tender exercises and single-source procurements.
• Lead supplier negotiations covering pricing, rates, terms and conditions.
• Identify opportunities to deliver commercial value and value for money.
• Provide commercial advice/best practice and challenge where appropriate.
• Draft contracts and contribute to contract template development.
• Manage procurement governance and approval processes.
• Manage several procurement projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements:

You'll be a confident commercial professional who can manage a team, operate independently, manage competing priorities and engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels.

• Public Sector Industry experience or any experience in Rail or Transport
• Proven experience managing end-to-end procurement and sourcing activities.
• Strong understanding of tendering, procurement processes and governance.
• Strong people management, team leadership or team mentoring experience
• Experience negotiating with suppliers on commercial terms, pricing and contracts.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple sourcing projects and priorities simultaneously.
• Strong commercial judgement and a focus on delivering value for money.
