Post Transaction Senior Consultant (4F58ABB)

London Source: WhatJobs
£70,000–£110,000

Referment is working with a UK analytics and actuarial consultancy that helps clients make good decisions across pensions and benefits, investments, insurance, energy, health and data analytics. Its specialist pension risk transfer practice is one of the most experienced de-risking teams in the market, and it is expanding its post-transaction capability as risk transfer activity picks up.

The Role

You’ll join a post-transaction team of experienced practitioners who support trustees and sponsors through the transition of pension schemes to buy-out and wind-up. Working closely with the wider pension risk transfer team and other parts of the business, you’ll help ensure a seamless end-to-end process from completing a buy-in transaction through to ultimate wind-up. Clients are a mix of existing relationships and schemes whose incumbent advisers have brought in the firm’s independent de-risking expertise.

  • Work on a variety of projects helping schemes navigate the move from a completed buy-in to buy-out and ultimate wind-up.
  • Build relationships with clients, their advisers and insurers, actively project-managing the process to keep it on track, finding pragmatic solutions to issues and giving peace of mind that the necessary steps have been taken.
  • Support clients in moving their schemes to wind-up within their desired timescales.
  • Contribute to the wider team’s strategy, attend networking events and conferences, and support new business tenders.

What We’re Looking For

  • Demonstrable experience in a pensions consulting environment, or possibly with a bulk annuity provider.
  • Proven experience of insurer post-transaction processes and wider aspects of pension scheme wind-ups.
  • Strong UK pensions technical knowledge, with an understanding of the legislative requirements around wind-ups.
  • Excellent project management skills, able to develop detailed project plans and drive tasks to completion against timescales.
  • Ability to build strong collaborative relationships with a wide range of stakeholders, including other advisers, insurers, trustee boards and sponsoring employers.
  • Excellent written and oral communication, including leading and delivering presentations at client meetings.
  • A proactive, solutions-driven approach, capable of strategic thinking while recognising risks and issues.
  • Evidence of overseeing the financial aspects and managing the risks associated with projects.

Desirable

  • Experience of new business tenders.
  • A desire to develop, coach and mentor less experienced team members.

This could suit an experienced pensions consultant looking to specialise in de-risking, or someone from a bulk annuity provider wanting to move to the advisory side.
