Hunters Legal is working with a International Law Firm seeking a Corporate Tax Associate to join its established and highly regarded Corporate Tax team in London.

The successful candidate will advise a diverse range of UK and international clients on a broad range of complex tax matters, working closely with experienced partners and colleagues across the wider firm.

The Corporate Tax team advises individuals, owner-managed businesses and multinational corporations across the full spectrum of their UK-facing operations and activities. The work covers corporate transactions, real estate, international tax, general tax advisory and tax disputes and litigation.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Corporate Tax Associate to develop broad experience within a collaborative, full-service environment, with significant responsibility, close partner contact and strong client exposure.

The Role

The successful candidate will be involved in:

• Corporate tax structuring and advisory work relating to mergers, acquisitions, disposals, corporate reconstructions and demergers.
• Advising international clients entering the UK market, including inbound investment and potential UK tax exposure.
• Providing tax advice on real estate acquisitions, disposals, lettings, development projects and joint ventures.
• Advising on international tax matters, including UK tax risks arising from businesses or personnel operating in the UK and the application of double tax treaties.
• General tax advisory work, including employment-related taxes, National Insurance contributions, PAYE, IR35, settlement agreements and tax provisions within finance agreements.
• Tax disputes and litigation, including HMRC enquiries and investigations, tribunal appeals and disputes involving significant tax liabilities.
• Supporting transactions and advisory matters from inception through to completion.
• Managing day-to-day client relationships and acting as a key contact on ongoing matters.
• Contributing to the continued development and growth of the Corporate Tax practice.

The Candidate

The firm is looking for a Corporate Tax lawyer with:

• Experience gained within a recognised Corporate Tax practice.
• A strong background in transactional and advisory tax work.
• Experience advising on the tax aspects of corporate transactions.
• A solid understanding of UK corporate tax law and its practical, commercial application.
• Strong drafting, analytical and problem-solving skills.
• The ability to communicate complex tax issues clearly and concisely.
• Confidence managing matters and client relationships with appropriate supervision.
• Strong communication, collaboration and business development skills.
• A high level of professionalism, attention to detail and commercial judgement.
• Qualification as a Solicitor in England & Wales.

Experience across areas such as real estate tax, international tax, employment taxes, finance transactions or tax disputes would be advantageous.
