Alstom is seeking a Head of Finance Rolling Stock UK&I to lead financial strategy, governance and performance management for its Rolling Stock Centre in Derby. Reporting at a senior level, the role is responsible for driving operational excellence, supporting business growth and ensuring robust financial control across the UK & Ireland rolling stock business.

The Role

The successful candidate will act as a strategic business partner to the Site Managing Director and wider leadership team, providing financial insight, guidance and challenge to support decision-making and long-term value creation.

Key responsibilities include:

• Leading financial planning, budgeting, forecasting and performance analysis.
• Supporting strategic objectives through effective financial management and business partnering.
• Monitoring and forecasting key financial and operational performance indicators.
• Challenging financial assumptions, risk assessments and variance analyses to enable informed decision-making.
• Supporting investment decisions, restructuring initiatives, capacity expansion and continuous improvement programmes through robust financial analysis.
• Ensuring compliance with Alstom financial policies, reporting standards and internal control requirements.

Reporting & Coordination

• Collecting, consolidating and analysing financial information to provide accurate performance reporting and forecasting.
• Ensuring financial processes comply with internal controls, external regulations and company standards.
• Working closely with regional controllers and the Country Finance Director to report results, share insights and drive corrective actions where required.

Leadership & Team Management

• Leading and developing the site controlling team.
• Coordinating planning, budgeting and target-setting activities.
• Ensuring the delivery of accurate financial data, budgets and resource plans.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will bring:

• Significant experience in financial management within large-scale industrial or manufacturing environments.
• Experience in External Audit, Site Control or Project Control.
• The ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong analytical skills, with the ability to translate complex financial data into strategic business recommendations.
• Experience leading cross-functional teams through transformation and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and sound commercial judgement.
• Proven leadership and people management experience.
