What you will do:

• Process and manage Housing Benefit, Council Tax Reduction, and Discretionary Support applications, ensuring they are handled promptly and in line with legislation.
• Resolve inquiries from residents, landlords, and external agencies regarding housing and council tax matters.
• Advise clients on welfare assistance and direct them to appropriate agencies for additional support.
• Verify and update Council Tax account information ensuring accuracy and resolving discrepancies.
• Initiate actions for the recovery of overpayments, adhering to established procedures.
• Adapt to service needs, demonstrating flexibility in your approach.
• GCSE English and Maths grade A-C or equivalent qualifications.
• Demonstrable experience in assessing Housing Benefit and Council Tax Reduction claims.
• In-depth knowledge of relevant legislation and procedures.
• Strong organisational skills and adept at managing your own workload in a busy environment.
• Proficient with MS 365 Tools and possess a high degree of computer literacy.
• Proven customer service skills and a talent for financial calculations.
