About The Role

In this role, you will provide day-to-day commercial management support, including the delivery of commercial support during bids, contract negotiations, and across an international portfolio. You will manage the delivery of contract commercial support to account management teams across key strategic accounts and larger regions, sectors or portfolios. You will lead the development of commercial solutions on projects and contractual issues. You will lead the identification and management legal, financial, and commercial risks and opportunities in collaboration with account leads. You will lead efforts to drive the adoption and awareness of commercial policies and procedures among account teams and senior managers.

Key Job Responsibilities

• Advise Contract Managers and Sector Directors on queries and interpretations regarding contract terms.
• Advise Contract Managers and Sector Directors on driving commerciality across existing contracts and new business opportunities.
• Ensure the portfolio maintains risk and opportunity registers and that all items have clear action plans.
• Lead the management and resolution of risks and opportunities in collaboration with operational stakeholders.
• Provide advice and support to account teams on contract variations, ensuring they are executed in accordance with any specific contractual requirements, internal policies, and procedures, while identifying opportunities for commercial benefit.
• Support and provide commercial focused guidance across the organisation.
• Complete commercial records and documentation for use throughout the organisation.
• Prepare documentation and review contract documents to support the commercial team during bids and negotiations.
• Contribute to the development and improvement of internal systems, processes, and procedures to meet commercial requirements.
• Review and approve documents requiring internal commercial sign-off within delegated level of authority.

About You

The ideal candidate will have:

Experience And Knowledge

• Substantial experience in identifying, driving, and influencing the delivery of commercial benefit.
• Substantial experience in risk and opportunity management.
• Substantial experience in resolving complex issues and contractual issues.
• Substantial experience in managing and negotiating KPIs and payment mechanisms.
• Experience leading negotiations with third parties on contractual terms and conditions and schedules.
• Good working knowledge of key terms and conditions relevant to contract negotiations.
• Knowledge of bid, financial, and FM-focused operational processes.
• Digitally competent.
• Substantial experience in commercial contract management.

Industry Competencies

• Ability to identify, understand, and explain key commercial and contractual risks and opportunities.
• Experience working with different forms of contract relevant to different sectors and packages of work.
• Excellent ability to interpret and advise on contractual obligations.
• Experience within the FM and Managed Services sector.

Professional Competencies

• Effective communicator with other teams and different levels of seniority within an organisation.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Strong demonstratable experience in interpreting and applying contract terms.
• Experience in managing processes and procedures.

Leadership Competencies

• Experience managing cross functional teams.
• Ability to share key information, best practices, and learning with colleagues.
• May manage small teams, providing guidance, direction, and coordination.
• Act as central point of contact for commercial matters across an international portfolio with responsibility for internal and external stakeholder management. Demonstrates self-awareness and takes action to develop personal strengths and address area for improvement in themselves and others.

Further Qualifications, Certifications & Experience

• Relevant professional experience and a degree or equivalent qualification in business or another relevant subject.
