The Housing Executive is now recruiting for a Senior Solicitor (Employment Law) to join their team.

Location: Housing Centre, Adelaide Street, Belfast with travel throughout NI

Job Purpose

In this role, you will provide professional and timely legal advice and assistance and legal representation, to include having conduct of any associated litigation, ensuring the provision of a high-quality legal service to all levels of the organisation, in relation to:

• all areas of employment law, and,
• complex legal work and/or work of organisational significance, impact or value in other areas of practice, including instance personal injury, FOI/Data Protection, judicial review, housing and homelessness.

Essential Criteria

Applicants must provide evidence by the closing date for application that they meet the following essential criteria:

• Possess a degree (Level 6*) or equivalent level qualification. *refer to the Qualifications Framework.
• Be a solicitor of the Court of Judicature of Northern Ireland qualified to practice in Northern Ireland.
• Can demonstrate at least 5 years’ post-qualification experience, providing legal advice and assistance in relation to a full range of employment law matters and in the conduct of employment related litigation.
• Can demonstrate significant relevant post-qualification experience in at least one of the following areas:
• Personal Injury
• FOI/Data Protection
• Judicial Review
• Housing
• Homelessness
• Can demonstrate to be assessed at interview
• Excellent analytical thinking and decision-making skills
• Strong organisational skills in order to manage a busy caseload
• Ability to work well under pressure of multiple deadlines
• Excellent interpersonal communication and influencing skills
• Willingness and ability to work collegiately

6. Possess a current driving licence or have access to a form of transport that enables them to meet the requirements of the post in full.
