Business Development Manager

Our client is a well-established, family-owned renewable energy business based in Greater Manchester, specialising in the design, installation and maintenance of Solar PV systems for public and private sector clients. Over 20 years they have grown from a one-person operation into a respected name across the North West, working with local authorities, schools, academy trusts and commercial property portfolios.

They are now looking for an experienced Business Development Manager to join the leadership team and take ownership of the commercial growth strategy — a newly created role, not a replacement.

The Role

• Develop and implement the commercial growth strategy
• Build a robust pipeline of public and private sector opportunities
• Grow presence within the private commercial solar market
• Develop relationships with key stakeholders across target sectors
• Lead commercial negotiations, pricing and costing activity
• Lead tender submissions and framework applications
• Support diversification of revenue streams
• Become a trusted member of the senior leadership team

About You

• Significant experience in a senior commercial, business development or partnerships role
• Renewable energy, solar, infrastructure or wider energy sector background preferred
• Proven track record building new business pipelines and revenue streams
• Strong pricing, costing and commercial management experience
• Experience with strategic partnerships and tender/framework bids
• Confident operating both strategically and commercially
• Proactive, resilient, relationship-focused and entrepreneurial
