Solution Architect (ERP Transformation)

Solution Architect (ERP Transformation) needed urgently for an initial 6 - month engagement (likely to extend) with our Construction client in Edinburgh. The right candidate must have demonstrable experience as a Solution Architect on ERP projects and programmes within complex, corporate environments.

The role requires candidates to engage via an FCSA accredited Umbrella company and candidates must be willing and able to work onsite in Edinburgh 2 days per week.

This is a high-profile, business-critical programme where you'll provide architectural leadership across the end-to-end solution lifecycle, ensuring the ERP platform integrates seamlessly with the wider technology landscape.

The successful candidate will take ownership of the end-to-end architecture for the ERP transformation, ensuring the solution is scalable, secure and aligned with the wider technology strategy. You'll provide architectural leadership throughout the project lifecycle, overseeing solution design, integrations, testing, deployment and transition into support, while identifying and mitigating technical risks, dependencies and architectural challenges.

Working closely with vendors, implementation partners and internal stakeholders, you'll govern integrations across the enterprise landscape, lead design reviews and technical workshops, and ensure solutions meet both business and technical requirements. You'll also play a key role in architecture governance, maintaining standards, documentation and decision-making processes, while supporting deployment, data migration, operational readiness and knowledge transfer to ensure a successful and sustainable long-term implementation.

Required Experience

• Proven experience as a Solution Architect on large-scale ERP implementation or transformation programmes.
• Strong understanding of enterprise architecture, integrations, APIs, middleware and complex application landscapes.
• Experience governing and assuring designs delivered by ERP vendors, systems integrators or third-party suppliers.
• Strong architecture governance and Design Authority experience.
• Ability to translate business requirements into practical, scalable and supportable solutions.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills, including senior leadership interaction.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced programme environment with multiple workstreams.

Ideal experience

• Experience supporting ERP migration, integration, reporting, testing and deployment activities.
• Experience architecting modern data platforms, including Lakehouse or Data Warehouse solutions.
• Understanding of automation, AI-enabled processes and emerging technologies.
• Previous experience working with ERP platforms such as COINS or similar enterprise solutions.

Nice to Have

• Previous experience of COINS ERP or a COINS implementation.
• Experience within housebuilding, construction, engineering, property or real estate environments.
• Knowledge of finance, procurement, commercial, construction, land management or technical business processes.
