Financial Controller

We’re thrilled to partner with a prestigious property developer and building contractor in their search for a Financial Controller. This role is pivotal in enhancing the financial reporting and control environment of a growing business that has experienced 20% YoY growth, known for delivering technically complex, high-end schemes.

Key Responsibilities

• Transition the group from quarterly to disciplined monthly financial closes, defining timetables and approval processes.
• Produce comprehensive monthly financial packs, including profit and loss, balance sheets, and KPIs with insightful commentary.
• Manage revenue recognition on long-term contracts under FRS 102, ensuring full support for WIP and deferred income.
• Develop and maintain a rolling 13-week cash flow forecast, ensuring accuracy and
• Model cash flow profiles for ongoing projects, covering all relevant financial obligations.
• Analyze build costs and provide feedback for future development appraisals.
• Ensure timely statutory filings for all group entities and manage VAT compliance across various construction scenarios.

Key Requirements

• ACA, ACCA, or CIMA qualified with a solid grounding in UK GAAP and FRS 102.
• Proven experience in a Financial Controller or Senior Finance Manager role, within construction or project-led environments.
• Strong track record of improving reporting cycles and managing multi-entity financial processes.
• Experience in long-term contract revenue recognition and familiarity with CIS and VAT compliance.
• Advanced Excel skills and comfort with ERP systems, contributing to a hands-on finance team.
