We are currently seeking an experienced Buyer for a permanent opportunity based in Warrington. The successful candidate must have a strong civil engineering buying background and experience procuring materials and services within the construction sector.
Key Responsibilities
Procure materials, plant and services for civil engineering projects
Source suppliers and negotiate competitive prices and terms
Manage purchase orders and ensure materials are delivered in line with project programmes
Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and subcontractors
Work closely with commercial and operational teams to meet project requirements
Monitor costs and identify opportunities to achieve best value
Requirements
Previous experience as a Buyer within civil engineering (essential)
Strong knowledge of civils materials, suppliers and procurement processes
Excellent negotiation and supplier management skills
Strong commercial awareness and understanding of project costs
Good organisational and communication skills
Ability to manage multiple project requirements and deadlines
