Principal Planning Officer

Carrington West are assisting their local authority client based in the North of England in the search for a Principal Planning Officer to join their Development Management team on an initial 3 month contract (Extensions likely).

We have an exciting opportunity for a motivated planning professional who can demonstrate the qualities to hit the ground running and successfully manage a caseload of multiple large scale Residential Schemes (circa. 100 units) as well as mixed used retail and commercial schemes.

It is essential that you have worked as a development management case officer in a local authority planning department or at an equivalent level in a private practice. The successful candidate must demonstrate good technical knowledge and understanding of relevant planning legislation and national guidance. Experience of working in a rural area would also be desirable and being MRTPI will be looked upon favourably though is not necessary.

It would be beneficial to hold a Post-graduate degree in planning, regeneration or a related discipline.

Carrington West Pay Rate - £55per/hour (DOE)
