We are seeking a driven and experienced Business Development Manager who thrives on winning new business opportunities. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of acquiring new customers, generating pipeline, and closing complex deals across software, technology, payment, or related solution-based sales environments.

This role will be based from our Hereford offices, with regular travel across the UK for client meetings, industry events, and conferences.

Key Responsibilities

• Hunt for New Business Proactively identify, engage, and convert prospective clients by generating new business opportunities for allpay's payments, software, and digital solutions portfolio through market research, networking, prospecting, targeted outreach, and lead generation activities.
• Sales Strategy Execution Develop and execute ambitious sales plans to drive revenue growth, increase market share, and achieve individual and team sales targets.
• Client Acquisition Build and maintain a strong pipeline of opportunities, acquiring new customers while identifying opportunities to cross-sell and upsell products and services.
• Consultative Solution Selling Understand customer challenges and business objectives, matching allpay's payment services, software platforms, and digital solutions to customer needs.
• Sales Presentations and Demonstrations Prepare and deliver compelling presentations, software demonstrations, and solution proposals tailored to prospective clients and stakeholders.
• Deal Negotiation and Closing Manage the full sales cycle from qualification through to contract negotiation and closure, ensuring commercial objectives are achieved.
• Market Intelligence Maintain a strong understanding of industry trends, technology developments, regulatory changes, and competitor offerings within both payments and software sectors.
• Collaboration Work closely with Product, Marketing, Bid Management, Implementation, and Client Services teams to ensure market feedback informs product development and go-to-market strategies.
• Reporting and Forecasting Maintain accurate CRM records and provide regular pipeline, sales performance, and forecasting updates to management.
• Industry Engagement Represent allpay at industry events, conferences, exhibitions, and networking opportunities to build relationships and generate new business opportunities.

About You

Qualifications & Experience

• Proven experience in Business Development, New Business Sales, Account Executive, or similar consultative sales roles.
• Demonstrable success in winning and closing new business opportunities.
• Experience selling software, SaaS, technology solutions, payment services, fintech solutions, or other complex B2B propositions.
• Ability to understand customer requirements and communicate technical and business value propositions to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Strong communication, presentation, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience managing long and complex sales cycles involving multiple decision makers.
• Professional and ethical approach to sales, aligned with allpay's values and customer-first culture.
• Ability to build and maintain long-term customer relationships.
• Self-motivated, resilient, and target-driven with a strong commercial mindset.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and CRM platforms.
• Willingness to travel across the UK as required.

Desirable

• Experience selling into the public sector, housing, financial services, utilities, or local government markets.
• Knowledge of the regulatory, operational, and commercial challenges faced by organisations within allpay's target markets.
• Experience responding to tenders, frameworks, and formal procurement processes.
