Head of Logistics Recruitment (Automotive and Manufacturing) -
NXA Talent are delighted to be partnering with a national haulier for a key planning hire with strategic transport experience to help plan their national network.
Key Responsibilities
Plan efficient routes and driver schedules using TMS to optimise national haulage network
Tailoring daily transport plan to regional need and operational variances
Observe and monitor adherence to UK/EU rules on driver working hours, breaks, and tachograph usage.
Utilise network resource as needed across the network
Record issues across the operation and flag to appropriate senior leadership
Utilise subcontractors and other external resource as necessary
Manage relationships with permanent and agency drivers
Skillset
Strong decision-making and commercial judgment in time-sensitive, peak-demand environments
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and experience with planning systems/TMS
Familiar with industry legislation (VOSA)
Experience in transport planning is necessary with a background in general haulage being highly advantageous
Commercial approach to transport planning is an advantage
