Mount Royal Hotel Edinburgh by the Unlimited Collection — Duty Manager

We are seeking a charming and engaging Duty Manager with a passion for service excellence. You will report to the Assistant Front Office Manager, supporting and working towards providing guests with memorable experiences of the city.

Responsibilities

• Ensures the Front Office team offers a warm welcome, accurate information, and guest comfort and safety.
• Oversees adherence to company procedures (check-in, check-out, cash and key handling).
• Manages team communication and fosters a collaborative environment.
• Supports the Assistant Front Office Manager with recruitment, performance management, talent development, and absence management.
• Handles guest queries and complaints, involving senior management when necessary.
• Manages bookings, room allocations, group reservations, and special requests.
• Initiates and maintains effective communication within the department and with other departments.
• Ensures compliance with safety and security procedures, financial tasks, and assists with revenue management.

Qualifications

• Excellent guest engagement skills.
• Cash and key handling experience.
• Knowledge of relevant legislation: health and safety, employment.
• Ability to act on own initiative and think ahead to exceed expectations.
• Creativity and confidence to find solutions to everyday challenges.
• Experience working in a four-star hotel as a Supervisor.
