Facilities Supervisor

We are looking to appoint a trustworthy person who can work in a demanding and busy hospital environment, who must be flexible, hardworking and energetic. The role is to provide day-to-day supervision and leadership for up to 20 Facilities Assistants, which is essential in maintaining safe, clean, and compliant environments for patients, visitors, and staff., To ensure facilities operations run smoothly, maintaining safe, clean, and compliant environments for patients, staff, and visitors.Manage and monitor rotas, ensuring correct allocation of shifts and compliance with service requirements.Oversee audits, site coordination, and regulatory compliance, including infection prevention and control standards.Act as a key point of contact for staff, ensuring health and safety procedures are followed and appropriate support is available.Support staff development, wellbeing, engagement, and retention through effective leadership, communication, and guidance.Liaise with clinical teams and other departments to maintain service continuity and resolve operational issues promptly.Travel to other sites as required to provide on-site supervision, audits, training, and operational support.A full UK driving license and vehicle for business use is required for this post; however reasonable adjustments will be made for disabled individuals in line with the Equality Act 2010.

• Disclosure and Barring Service Check This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.
  We require someone with previous experience in a supervisory role, a recognised cleaning or support services qualification with knowledge of relevant NHS policies and procedures, including legal requirements. Shift pattern/hours are 37.5hrs per week 8am - 4pm Monday - Friday. Applicants must be flexible and able to work additional shifts as and when required (including some weekends) to cover the 7-day week service., Applicants requiring a Skilled Worker Visa can determine the likelihood of obtaining a Certificate of Sponsorship against the relevant criteria here
• Vocational qualification level 3, City and Guilds or equivalent plus additional knowledge acquired through training and experience to diploma or equivalent level
• Level 2 Food Safety Certificate or equivalent experience
• NVQ Level 2 Cleaning and Building Interiors or equivalent experience
• NVQ Level 2 infection control or equivalent experience, Ability to undertake all mandatory training as required by the individual site.
• Ability to undertake any necessary skills and competency training required by the post., Level 3 Health & Safety Certificate.
• Level 3 Food Safety Certificate
• I. L.M or N.E.B.S.S Certificate or equivalent supervisor qualification
• CPC, Experience in staff supervision of Facilities Services
• Experienced in delivering of training to staff, Understanding of Infection Control
• Knowledge of Health & Safety including COSHH/risk assessments/manual handling activities
• Knowledge of cleaning equipment requirements
• Knowledge of stock control procedures
• Knowledge of including cleanliness in hospitals and PLACE standards, Knowledge of relevant NHS procedures and practices, including legal requirements, Good administration skills
• Good communications skills
• Meeting accurate deadlines

Please note applicants will be required to pay for their DBS check. Costs are deducted from salary following appointment. The cost of the DBS application is £26.40 (standard) or £54.40 (enhanced), this cost will be deducted from your salary over the first 2 months of employment. You are encouraged to enrol for the DBS Update Service. An annual fee of £16 per year applies. Please note that this post does not meet the pay level required for a Skilled worker visa.
