C2 Recruitment is exclusively partnering with an established and highly regarded consumer brand to appoint an Ecommerce Director.

This is a significant senior leadership appointment with responsibility for the commercial performance and future direction of the ecommerce business.

We're looking for someone who understands that great ecommerce isn't just about traffic. It's about revenue, margin, conversion, customer acquisition, retention and ultimately delivering profitable growth. All whilst leading a team!

The opportunity

You'll take ownership of the ecommerce strategy and commercial performance, working closely with the wider senior leadership team to identify where the biggest opportunities for growth exist and, importantly, turn those opportunities into results.

This is not a role for someone who wants to sit several layers away from the detail. We're looking for a commercially minded ecommerce leader who can think strategically but still understands what is happening day-to-day across trading, customers and performance.

You’ll have responsibility across areas including:

• Ecommerce strategy, revenue, profitability and P&L
• Digital trading and commercial performance
• Conversion rate optimisation and customer journey
• Customer acquisition and performance marketing
• CRM, retention and customer engagement
• Ecommerce forecasting, budgeting and reporting
• Website performance and continuous improvement
• Developing and leading a high-performing ecommerce team
• Working across Marketing, Retail, Product, Operations and Technology
• Identifying new opportunities to accelerate profitable online growth

Who are we looking for?

Your job title is less important than what you have actually delivered.

You could currently be an Ecommerce Director, Digital Director, Head of Ecommerce, Head of Digital Trading or in a similar senior ecommerce leadership position.

What matters is that you can demonstrate genuine commercial impact.

We’d particularly like to hear from people who can show:

• Significant ecommerce leadership experience within a consumer-facing brand
• Ownership of substantial online revenue and commercial targets
• Strong understanding of ecommerce P&L, margin and profitability
• Evidence of delivering meaningful online growth
• Excellent knowledge of trading, conversion and customer acquisition
• Strong understanding of CRM, retention and the customer journey
• Experience leading and developing ecommerce teams
• The ability to use data to make better commercial decisions
• Experience working as part of, or closely with, a senior leadership team
• Experience within retail, fashion, footwear, sports, lifestyle or another multi-channel consumer brand would be particularly relevant.

This could be your next step

You don't necessarily need to have held the title Ecommerce Director before.

If you're an experienced Head of Ecommerce who has already been operating at a senior level, owning the numbers, leading a team and influencing wider business strategy, this could be the opportunity to take that next step.
