Business Development Manager - Fast Track Retail, Fit-Out & Design & Build

Location: North West

Salary: £55,000 - £65,000 per annum

Car Allowance: £5,000 per annum

OTE: £80,000+ uncapped

The Opportunity

LG Project Consultancy is currently working with an established and growing contractor operating across the Fast Track Retail, Fit-Out and Design & Build sectors, who are looking to appoint an experienced Business Development Manager to join their team.

This is a key commercial appointment, with the successful candidate taking responsibility for identifying and developing new business opportunities, building long-term client relationships and driving sustainable revenue growth across the North West.

The business is looking for an established BDM with a strong understanding of the retail, commercial fit-out and D&B market, ideally with an existing network of relevant clients, contractors, developers, landlords, property consultants and other key stakeholders.

This is an opportunity for an ambitious sales professional to take genuine ownership of business development within a growing organisation, with an attractive uncapped earning opportunity.

The Package

• £55,000 - £65,000 basic salary

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a proactive business development strategy across the North West.
• Identify and secure new opportunities within the Fast Track Retail, Fit-Out and Design & Build sectors.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective clients.
• Develop relationships with retailers, developers, landlords, property consultants, main contractors and specialist subcontractors.
• Generate a consistent pipeline of new opportunities from initial enquiry through to contract award.
• Attend networking events, client meetings and industry functions to develop new relationships.
• Monitor market activity and identify upcoming projects and procurement opportunities.
• Work closely with estimating, pre-construction, commercial and operational teams to develop competitive tenders and proposals.
• Lead client presentations, negotiations and commercial discussions.
• Maintain accurate CRM records, sales forecasts and pipeline reporting.
• Develop existing accounts and identify opportunities for repeat business.
• Contribute towards the company's overall growth strategy and market expansion.

About You

The successful candidate will ideally have a proven background in business development within construction, fit-out, retail, D&B or a closely related sector.

You should be a confident and commercially driven sales professional who is comfortable opening doors, developing relationships and converting opportunities into profitable projects.

We're particularly interested in candidates who can demonstrate:

1. Proven BDM / Business Development Manager experience within construction or fit-out.
2. Strong knowledge of the Fast Track Retail and/or Design & Build market.
3. An established network of relevant industry contacts.
4. A proven track record of generating and winning new business.
5. Experience dealing with senior decision-makers.
6. Strong commercial awareness and understanding of project margins.
7. Excellent communication, negotiation and relationship-building skills.
8. A proactive and self-motivated approach.
9. The ability to work autonomously and take ownership of the sales function.
10. A genuine desire to build something and contribute to the growth of the business.
