Head of Landlord Compliance and Building Safety

£500 per day | Umbrella | 6-month interim

We're looking for an experienced Head of Landlord Compliance and Building Safety to lead a high‑profile compliance and safety function within a large housing organisation.

You’ll provide strategic leadership across landlord compliance, building safety and safety assurance, ensuring housing stock meets statutory, regulatory and safety requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Lead landlord compliance and building safety across HRA residential properties.
• Oversee Fire, Legionella, Asbestos, Gas, Electrical, LOLER, Damp & Mould compliance.
• Lead the delivery of the Asset Safety Strategy and provide robust assurance and reporting.
• Ensure compliance with legislation and the Regulator of Social Housing's Consumer Standards.
• Provide leadership across operational teams, contractors and key stakeholders.
• Lead regulatory preparation, inspections and continuous service improvement.
• Work closely with senior Asset Management and Housing colleagues.

About you

You’ll have significant senior‑level experience in building safety, landlord compliance, housing asset management or property compliance, ideally within a local authority or social housing environment.

Relevant professional qualifications/memberships such as CIOB, IOSH, IFE/IFSM or IIRSM would be advantageous.

Contract: 6-months

Rate: £500 per day (Umbrella)

Start: ASAP
