Sandwich Artist Catering Assistant

At Sodexo, our people are at the heart of everything we do. We are looking for enthusiastic and customer-focused Subway Sandwich Artists to join our team at Doncaster Royal Infirmary. You will prepare fresh sandwiches, salads and other menu items while providing a friendly and efficient service to hospital staff, patients and visitors. You will also help maintain a clean, organised and welcoming environment throughout the store. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working with people, takes pride in delivering excellent service and thrives in a busy, team-focused environment. No previous Subway experience is required as full training will be provided.

What you'll do

• Welcome customers and take orders accurately
• Prepare sandwiches, salads and other menu items to the required recipes and quality standards
• Provide friendly and professional customer service
• Operate the till and process cash and card transactions accurately
• Restock ingredients, packaging and other supplies as required
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness across food preparation, service and dining areas
• Follow food safety, hygiene and health and safety procedures
• Support opening and closing duties when required
• Work closely with colleagues to ensure the store operates smoothly
• Complete other reasonable duties to support the wider team
• A positive, friendly and customer-focused approach
• Strong communication skills
• The ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
• A reliable and punctual approach to work
• The ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Confidence handling cash and processing customer orders
• Flexibility to work across different shifts, including weekends and bank holidays
• The ability to remain on your feet for extended periods
• Previous experience in food service, retail or hospitality would be helpful, but it is not essential
• Shift times: 7:30am and 7:15pm, with Sunday opening hours between 8:00am and 6:15pm. Applicants should therefore be able to work flexibly across the store's operating hours.
