Chef de Rang – Full Time. Pentole & Padelle – Central London

We are looking for an experienced and professional Chef de Rang to join our team at Pentole & Padelle , an independent Italian restaurant in the heart of Central London..

We are not looking for a general waiter or someone looking for their first restaurant position. We are looking for an experienced hospitality professional who understands the standards of a quality restaurant and takes pride in delivering knowledgeable, elegant and attentive service..

The Role.

As a Chef de Rang , you will be responsible for looking after your own section and ensuring that every guest receives a professional and memorable experience from arrival to departure. You will be expected to have confidence in dealing with guests, good product knowledge and the ability to work independently while supporting the wider team.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Taking full responsibility for your own section..
• Welcoming and looking after guests throughout their entire dining experience..
• Demonstrating excellent knowledge of Italian food and ingredients..
• Understanding and confidently communicating food allergies and allergens to guests..
• Taking accurate orders and ensuring they are communicated correctly to the kitchen and bar..
• Providing knowledgeable recommendations on food, Italian wines and aperitivi..
• Being able to explain dishes, ingredients and preparation methods clearly..
• Maintaining a high level of service throughout the meal..
• Anticipating guests' needs rather than simply reacting to requests..
• Ensuring tables and your section are consistently presented to a high standard..
• Working closely with the kitchen, bar and management team..
• Handling busy services calmly, professionally and efficiently..
• Maintaining our standards of hospitality, presentation and attention to detail..

What we are looking for.

Essential:

• Minimum 4–5 years' experience in a similar quality restaurant environment..
• Proven experience working as a Chef de Rang / Senior Waiter / experienced waiter ..
• Good knowledge of Italian cuisine and Italian food products ..
• Good knowledge of Italian wines and aperitivi ..
• Completed allergen training and a strong understanding of food allergies and cross-contamination..
• Ability to independently manage your own section..
• Excellent communication and customer-service skills..
• Professional appearance and attitude..
• Good attention to detail..
• Ability to remain calm and organised during busy services..
• A genuine passion for hospitality and providing an exceptional guest experience..
• Good English communication skills..

• Full-time position.
• Minimum 30 hours per week, up to 45 hours per week.

You will be comfortable speaking to guests about our food and wine, making recommendations and confidently managing your own section without constant supervision. Most importantly, you should take pride in what you do and understand the importance of professionalism, attention to detail and genuine hospitality .
